Lois to her sisters, Kate and Maud, three days after the birth of her first child, Donald. Mr. Lopp suggests his middle name should be Kosena for the chief of the Diomedes. (The name is rendered as "Kosinga" in this 1930s description of Diomede by Arthur Ahkinga and "Kozengas" here. Arthur Hansin Eide in Drums of Diomede spells it Kozingah.) Lopp wants Roy to continue with field work.
